Automatism

These sketches emerge without a fixed subject or intention. Shapes, figures, fragments and gestures surface from the subconscious through a process of automatism. Allowing the hand to move before the mind decides what it is making.

The drawings become a record of instinct, memory and fleeting associations: images that appear, disappear and transform without needing to resolve anything.
